Emily Perlman, LCPC, BCB, SMC-C is a licensed clinical professional counselor and certified biofeedback therapist. Emily has worked with interdisciplinary healthcare teams and alternative care physicians to promote the health and wellbeing of clients ranging in age from five to eighty-five. Her clients present with an array of concerns as a result of physical and/or emotional trauma, chronic pain and illness, and stress-related issues.
She is skilled at applying evidence-based practice to offer biofeedback and psychotherapy services. Her approaches include meditation, mindfulness, as well as cognitive behavioral therapy. She shares our passion for using integrative and alternative strategies to address patient concerns and she looks forward to working collaboratively in helping people lead healthier and happier lives.
Emily works closely with clients to develop their abilities to self-regulate and be in charge of their physical and emotional responses. Using meditation and computer-based biofeedback, patients learn strategies to:
- Decrease pain
- Lower stress and anxiety
- Improve resilience
- Reduce the amount of time it takes to fall asleep and improve quality of sleep
- Reduce reactivity by recognizing early signs of arousal
- Gain coping abilities which enhance feelings of self-efficacy
- Improve self-regulation
